I am just keep drawing the details of the roof recently. We don't ask something NEW!! to this architecture... just,,, not yet. It not time to do it. Preservation of the architecture is the most important matter now. Therefore, we need to design perfect roof for this. Hip roof, gable roof, and flat room, there are more than 100 of them. And they are intricately connected continuously that makes the roof sublime landscape of mountain and valleys. It is impossible to solve this problem with the answers written in textbook, but everything must be arranged, applied to be able to submit as particular solutions. Anyway,,, I can hardly believe that people from 2 centuries ago had done this roof calculations without any CAD or calculators. So,,, it is weird, but great roof that we have to spend a year to design and construct. We do just roof this year probably. When i finish this roof, I will be able to design any kind of roof, I suppose.
ひたすら屋根のディテールにだけ固執している。この建築には新しさは追求しない、、、まだ。建築自身の「保存」が最重要事項となっているため、まず完璧に近い屋根をかけなければ、何も始まらない。切妻、寄棟、陸屋根の総数１００。それらが極めて複雑に、しかも途中一度も途切れることなくぶつかり合って、壮大な山と谷の景観をつくっている。教科書的な知識では全く歯が立たない。すべてが特殊解としてのディテールとなっている。教科書じゃだめといったが、それでもさすが英国の気候なだけにLSAの鉛版葺き屋根マニュアルは最強である。納まりの図解だけで３００ページある。雨じまいの納まりを学ぶのは英国がいいだろうなあ。でも、よくもまあ２世紀ほど前によくこの複雑な屋根の雨量や傾斜等の面倒な計算が出来たなと思う。キャドを使っても面倒なのに。そんな面倒な屋根だから今年１年は屋根のリノベーションだけをやる。それほど重要な部位なのである。この建築の屋根をうまく納めることができれば、もうどんな屋根でもできそうである。
