Get up at 5:00 o'clock in the morning. 6:45 at Paddington Station. From this station we can head to either North or West. This was my second time to visit the site. Steel structured with glass roof ceiling in the morning is bit severe for people who wait for the trains at platform. Around 8:30 nearest station, then, 30 minutes of taxi. And until 16:00 I was concentrating on dimensional survey. This time i could get into the building that I haven't been inside before. I could imagine by myself that CAD drawing in my brain were now replaced by real material of heavy and cold stone. Being alone in the huge space of stone makes me lonely. It was like archeological survey. I could hardly see any in the interior, the only sign is the light projected from the window.The light attenuates when it came into interior deeper. And instead of bluish colour, yellowish colour of the stone represent in the space. the gradation from blue to yellow was impressive.
朝５時起床、６時４０分、パディントン駅へ。頭端式のホームでロンドンから北、西へ向かう場合この駅を使う。今日は２回目の敷地出張だった。冬の早朝、鉄骨のかまぼこ型ガラス屋根は何とも身体に厳しい。８時半最寄り駅、タクシーで草原を走ること３０分到着。１６時までひたすら打合せ、実測調査が入る。前は入れなかった重要な場所に入り、１人そこで数時間、考古学のような調査をした。いつも引いている図面が目の前に石造の壁として現れて感激した。巨大で真っ暗の石の空間に１人残されると心細い。窓から入る光が唯一の目印となる。強く青白い光が窓から注ぎ込み、廊下を細長く照らしている。内部に近いほど光が減衰し、代わりに石の黄色がぼんやりと現れる。黄色と青の奇妙なグラデーションが印象的だった。
And When it unexpectedly happened when i was on way to go back to London. Firstly it rained and after that it becomes sunny. The sun was setting to the ground but projecting the reddish light to the landscape. The landscape was glittering orange with wind blown plants. Smoky visible light cast from Intentional-like hole on the thick sea of clouds. The ambrosial landscape it was. Yellowish Cotswolds stone building were resonating as well as the landscape. I saw this landscape from car, and train. other people on the train were also looking at this brief moment of view. It was too beautiful but the train was warm and i was very tired to take camera out from my shoulder bag. I cannot show it here. The landscape made me happy being an architect. Around 20:00 at home.
ロンドンに帰る途中、珍しい風光に遭遇した。短い間にまず雨が降り、その直後晴れた。そこに赤い夕日が射して、風景全体が煌びやかな橙色に染まった。分厚い雲海に意図されたような巨大な穴が開き、そこから光が直線的な煙のような半物質になって、地面を照らした。風が吹き、草木が揺れ、無数の水滴が不規則に点滅して、更に増して神々しい風景となった。コッツウェルズの石造建築は共鳴するようにみな黄金色になっていった。その風景を、車から、電車からぼうっと眺めて力が抜けた。同じ電車に乗った人々も皆一瞬の出来事に見とれていた。あまりに綺麗な風景だったけども、電車の中が暖かく、１日の疲れがどってでて写真を撮る力が無かった。ただ茫然と観察した。この風景をみると、建築をやってて良かったと思えた。２０時帰宅。
