I planned to visit the site with my boss on either of weekend days but it will be tmrw. I received a text from her this morning. In the morning, I prepared a box to send it to Yoshi in Japan who just went back, and spend time on extermination of moulds. At evening, i met sculptor Susie, Digital Architect Hotta_shi to have dinner. Well managed Saturday to be satisfied. Other things,,, I received 2G magazine from Amazon and a letter from Heatherwick Studio. 2G is a series of architectural magazine wihch i think one of the best. I like the selection of architects and the topic. Balance of drawings, details, photos, and words are quite good. I usually don't buy magazines like those but i bought it because it is special edition for Sergison Bates. How to explain,,,, I like them because even they use quite general cheep materials but once they are constructed as architecture, it will ALTER to something others. They create sort of totality and spatial sequence that could not be achieved if the materials are just assembled. Even thery plans and sections are not too special, how can they achieve that... Surprising thing is that its already out of stock in Amazon japan and even its second hand, it was 9000yen, which is 75£... It reminds me of Peter Zumthor's A+U edition. Heatherwick Studio sent me a nice letter which apologies the rejection. Well its nice that they sent me back the reply, that's enough for now.
土曜日か日曜日のいずれかに自分のボスとプロジェクトの件でハイドパークの敷地を見に行く予定になっていたけれども、テキストで連絡を受けて土曜日ではなくなった。明日に持ち越し。日本に帰国した郄橋君の荷送りと壁のかび掃除をしたらもうすでに夕方になった。夕食は彫刻系スージーとデジタル建築系堀田氏とメキシカン。充実した土曜日だった。 その他、朝にはアマゾンから雑誌２ＧとHeatherwick Studioから手紙を受け取った。 ２Ｇは好きな建築雑誌で、建築家と主題の選び方が自分好みで、図面とそのディテール、写真、文章がよい配分であるところに良さを感じる。普段は雑誌は買わないが、この号はSergison Batesの特集だったから購入した。彼等の建築には憧れる。決して高くない質素な素材が彼等の建築に使われると化ける。化けて全体にまとまりが生まれ空間のシークエンスになる。平面も断面も至って普通なのにどうしたらそうなるのか。 で日本のAMAZONで検索すると、在庫無し、中古本が９０００円もしているではないか。Ａ＋ＵのPeter Zumthorみたいですなあ。 Heatherwick Studioより丁寧な手紙が寄せられた。現在は雇えません悪しからずと。ポートフォリオを手渡ししてからすでに３ヶ月以上が経過していた。返信が来ただけ嬉しい。
