The lecture was about Coop Himmelb(l)au's BMW by Peter Cook. Only about that architecture. After the lecture, Peter was sitting at same place and did nothing special. He was just waiting for something. I remembered that he said in the past lecture, "I am walking history." "Architecture is fuck." He is like that humorous person, and he become old now, hence i will never have chance to meet him and talk. Before he completely disappears from Bartlett, i thought that i have to talk to him once in my life. And here comes a sudden opportunity to talk with him. In general, many think of devastating and lambent questions to ask. So that, i thought of that also. But body reacted before i conceive a critical question. "hello, peter." I didn't have any questions to ask. I was stupid that i just tell him my unknown emotion, "I like Archigram's collage", like written description of my impression." But he was kind to crosscut, "but i don't use photoshop." I had feeling of frustration and suddenly i had to create a question. "i think collage is consisted of fragments and elements, and how do u make them into narrative?" He answered, "It's like a shopping, Even u think to buy a nice hat, u probably don't have any images at the beginning. you have to find it and try it on." .... I thought he alluded that Archigram's works are accidentally found... his reply was receivable to that way.... My tutor also said about that. "Archigram's collage is like, because they had free time, and draw,,, and here it is." I C, it was by chance or just intuition of architects,,, so this is Bartlett,,,. From these weeks, I realised that its not necessary to have proper theoretical approach. move with my intuition, and groping blindly in the dark is fine, i mean good. That's why i am designing something like "Shirt for Duchamp", "Suitcase for him"... something like cryptic and unknown....... or like "Designing a device to make a rock climbing a 5cm pebble."
"thanks, peter, goodbye." it ended like that.It was not whole life change happening for me, but i was glad to talk with him. A eyeglass like Le Corbusier and his kicked out legs with prada shoes were so cool.

コープヒンメルブラウのＢＭＷの建築だけについての、ピーター・クックのレクチャー。レクチャー終わってもピーターが、ずっと座ってくつろいでいたので、これはチャンスと思い、話してみた。そういえば、前の講義で「私は歩く歴史です。」「建築はファックです。」とピーターが言っていた。そんなピーターも、もう歳が歳だからいつバートレットにこなくなるかも解らない。いつか完全にいなくなってしまう前に、会って話しておかなければと思ってたら、ようやくそのチャンスが訪れた。こういう場合、何か衝撃的な、冴えた質問してやろう、と思うのが常。だからすげえ質問してやろうと思ったが、その前に身体が動いてしまった。「ハロー、ピーター」。普通になんも質問がなかった。でも「アーキグラムのコラージュが好きです。」と馬鹿みたいな感想文を述べてしまったが、「僕はでもフォトショップ使わないよ」と返答。焦って思いついたのは、「コラージュは最初は色んな破片、要素がごちゃ混ぜになっていて、ピーターはそれをどうやってナレティブ（物語）に仕上げるですか。」「それは買い物と同じだよ。いい帽子を買おうと思っても、最初から目的のものがあるとは限らないよね。色んな店をみて試着してみなくちゃならないし。」「プロセス（失敗、不合理）を楽しまないと駄目だよ。」・・・暗にあれは偶然出来たんだよと答えているように受けとれる。僕のチューターもそんなこと言っていた。「アーキグラムのコラージュは、暇だから、ちょっとドローイングしてみようか。。。といって出来たんだよ。」なるほど、、偶然なのかというか建築家の直観だけで出来たのか。。。バートレットもだからそんな感じなのか。。。ここ数週間でわかったのは、以外に以外とガチガチな理論的なアプローチは必要ない。直観で動いて、暗中模索なのがよいのである。だから今「デュシャンのシャツ」「スーツケース」など、端から見れば意味不明なデザインをやっているのだ。。。。「５センチくらいの小石をロッククライミングできるようにする装置のデザイン」とか。。。

「ピーター、ありがとう。グッバイ」といって終わる。人生の道筋がひっくり返る様な会話ではなかったが、話せて嬉しかった。コルビジェ風の黒縁目がねと、机の上に放り出したピーターのプラダの靴がかなり格好良かった。
