Recently, i bought a small, tiny stationery. I expect people would say it's useless, I mean you can go for more cheaper one though I bought it because I liked it so much. Basically I am into collecting stationery. DUX, German company which makes a nice pencil sharpener made of brass. Well-established company for 100 years. In these days, they mainly sell pencil sharpener made of magnesium but I went for brass one which is bit expensive. Small like my thumb. And the weight is heavy enough to feel the material on my hand and the appearance looks charming. Previously, I used brass in one house I designed in Japan. They were, I remember, line and plain rather than a chunk like this. I am looking for to use it for my design next time.
最近、気になって購入した物がある。人によってはそんなもんいらねえと思うだろうけれども好きだったから買った。僕はステーショナリーが好きなのである。ドイツのDUX社の真鍮製、鉛筆削り。創立１００年の老舗。マグネシウム合金のものが主体らしいが、高級な方の真鍮にした。小さい。親指の第一関節程の大きさ。でもずしりと重い。値段は高いが僕はその価値ありと思っている。£１２．５０。小さな専用レザーケースまでついている。削り具合良し、鉛筆は見る見るうちに尖っていく。鉛筆削りはリラックスできるのだ。これで削ると尚更に。真鍮は日本にいる時設計した住宅に使った事があったが、面材、あるいは線材だった。こうやって塊を手に取ってみるとこういう塊で扱ってみたいと感じる。

１、２、３の目盛り。３に合わせて削ると鋭く削れる。
GERMANY。拡大した真鍮の表面には細かい凹凸がみえる。ふふ、ポケットに入れておきたい。ルミックスのマクロ撮影機能様々。
