Its maybe bad habit not to spend so much time on each works as admission is free. Some of the works in the exhibition represented the contemporaneous India in terms of rapid industrial development of which i liked the most. They are naturally showing chaotic-ness and overlapping with Mandala.
昼過ぎ、目の検査をして注文したコンタクトレンズを回収。その後Sloane SquareのSaatchi Galleryへ。The Empire Strikes Back: Indian Art Todayを観に。アドミッションがタダだからいつもさらっと観てしまうのが悪い癖なのかもしれない。題名通り現代インドのアートシーンを切り取った展示であった。急速に産業化し発展するインドの風景をテーマにしているものは、自然とカオティックになって、曼荼羅になっていた。そういうのが特に目を惹いた。
Gallery at the bottom, was the purpose of this visiting to the Gallery. Before entering the gallery, the space was filled with rancid odor which is oil. This installation was illusion and was surely astonishing for architectural designers. White minimal space was filled with perfectly flat oil that makes perfect reflection of the ceiling. This was not a single black glossy glass, but liquid, not solid. Perfect flat. Materials are just oil and steel.
It was shocking to see Doris Salcedo at Tate Modern someday before, and this was too. But what makes me nod my head admirably is the flexibility of Gallery to allow actual do this installation and taking risk of harming the space.

最下層のギャラリーは別の展示だったが、ほんとはこれを目的に観に来たのだった。そのギャラリーに入る前から、廻りはすでに鼻につくオイルのにおいが充満していた。このインスタレーションは衝撃的なイリュージョンだった。白いミニマルなギャラリースペースが腰上ぐらいまでの黒いオイルで満たされていた。黒ガラスが張られている様に見えるが、ソリッドではなく液体だ。で完璧な平面ができあがっていた。ミースもびっくりするだろう。建築デザインに従事しているものにしたらヒ汗ものだ。使ってあるマテリアルはオイルと鉄。それにしても昔見たDoris Salcedoのテートモダンの展示といい、Richard Wilsonのこのオイル展示といい、度を超した展示をさらりとやってしまうイギリスの美術館の柔軟性がみられる。
夜、中国人ワルガキGとWとご飯を食べ、パブで夜遅くまで。
