A year ago, it was around 250 yen for one pound. Absolutely, the situation was cheaper yen and strong euro and pound. A year has passed since then, because of the economical crisis in US, at this moment, 1 pound is 156 yen. Abnormally, the yen keeps rising. the difference of the tuition fees between this year and last year is completely different. Simply, there's a few million yen difference between the amount. Regret always comes after.
Until 2010, Uk will be under recession. Needless to say, this will directly influences architectural industry. However such places as Dubai, and some cities in China, they need architects. International architectural design firms recruit people who can work there. I am not brave enough to get a job there. I finally settled down here in London. It is not the time to leave here yet is what i feel.

１年前の今頃は１ポンド２５０円だった。あれから１年、今現在１ポンド１５６円。イギリスの金融不安で異常な円高が続いている。去年入学したのと、今年入学したのとでは、学費にざっと数百万円の差が出る。１年違うだけでこれ程も差が出てしまうのかと、悔やんでも仕方がないのだけど。
これからイギリスは２０１０年まで景気後退するらしい。建築界ももちろん直撃をくらう。でもここはそうでもドバイや中国は建築家を必要としている。国際的な建築設計事務所はどこも、辺境の地での建築家、アシスタントを求めている。だけどやっとロンドンで落ち着いて生活できはじめた今、そこに行く勇気はない。まだここにいたい。
