Sunday, wake up before noon and chatting on skype with M-chan. She introduced me some friends and we talked for a while about half an hour. S-kun came later on and there were 5 people at the end. Great chat, conversation between London and Japan. Swimming at same place this week as well for an hour. After swimming, fleeting back to my flat. Put things i don't need, and headed for Barbican Centre. 18:20 at Barbican Centre waiting F while listening to free concert in the foyer. From 19:30, London Symphony Orchestra. Music was composed by Philip Glass collaborating with Great images from the nature. Music was good, but not so satisfied with the collaboration of sound and images. For me, it was just music was accurately following the floating images on the screen rather than interacting to each other. They were actually parallel not interacting. After concert, there was a symposium of those who took images, director, and scientist. They attempt to answer all questions from the audiences but actually they couldn't answer essentially against the sharp, and keen questions. It seems to me, they were being ostentatious displaying there knowledges and they were just distorting the questions. If there was Philip Glass on the stage, he could answer everything. What surprised me is that there are some people who are really keen that makes people on the stage flinch.
日曜日、昼前に起きてスカイプにてmちゃんと話してお友達を紹介していただいた。s君も加わって5人で会話する。ロンドンと日本間の会話だ。その後スイミングに出発。一時間近く泳いで即行にフラットに帰宅。18:20分、バービカンセンターに到着して、タダ演奏を聴きながら事務所同僚Fを待つ。すぐに到着し、１９時半よりロンドン・シンフォニー・オーケストラ。フィリップ・グラス作曲によるミニマルサウンドと壮大な自然のイメージを掛け合わせたコンサートだ。演奏は良かった。ただイメージと音のコラボレーションといっても、結局は映像を流している一方で、音が寸分違わずに追いかける感じでずっとパラレルだった。僕が想定していたのは音と視覚的プレゼンテーションがインタラクティブに干渉するようにデザインされたものだったので、少々残念だった。演奏後のシンポジウムのステージにあがったイメージを実際に撮った写真家、指揮者、そして科学者らしき人は、僕からしたら質問に対して一生懸命答えるのだが、長々と自分のもっている知識を垂れ流して、収拾がつかず質問が歪められ都合がいい様にまとめあげられ、結局は答えられていない事が多かった。あげくの果てには、音とイメージなど関係ない、「自然を大切にしてもらいたい」というなんとも安っぽい、もはや世間的にもちょっと怪しいと思い始められている言葉を放って沈黙が数秒続いたりもした。フィリップ・グラスがもし壇上にいたら会場からのクリティカルな質問には恐らく答えられたんだろうけど。という事は、彼ら（ステージ上の人々）はまだフィリップ・グラスの音楽を扱えきれていないのかもしれない。そんな事をFと小声で話をしながら、シンポジウムをぼーっと聴講していた。驚いたのは観客の中に、ステージ上の専門家をタジタジさせてしまう鋭い目を持った人達が沢山いた事だ。
