This was written by Goethe. I haven't read this book yet.
I just came back from my first trip to Sicily, Italy. 4 days of staying was bit short but dense. I could learn different aspect of Italian living, food, and sheltering which is represented by Sicilian characteristics. And also, traveling with British people made my old convention of journey in good way. Satisfaction of journey was made by this mostly. Summer,,,, it wasn't but temperature was good enough to walk around with just wearing a T shirt at night and moisture was less that kept weather mild.
When I was climbing a hill so-called "Valley of Temple", Michel, one of my colleagues who climbed the hill faster gave me a shout. "Don't take photo just for a moment, but take your time to burn the scenery into your eyes, you seldom see this sort of scenery in your life." I try to be careful to ready for the scenery behind me. He was ten years older than me who have seen all sorts of notable site in Europe. His words were trustful and I was excited about looking back.
It was breathtaking scenery and we were surrounded by silence for while. Garden of Eden, this word was best fit to the scenery that we faced. It is pitty that I couldn't express everything by the technique I have about taking photo. Manifold elements were fallen off. flavour of orange, new green, olive tree, Mediterranean, birds twittering, sound of sandy wind, babble of tree voices, changing of clouds and light. I cannot point everything. Within that sort of landscape full of lives, relics were scattered, and they stood strongly as if they were managing the world of lives there. I saw this kind of scenery in this journey. I realized that Piranesi's landscape really exist here. I will update my diary while my memories are vivid.

とゲーテは「イタリア紀行」の中で言ったらしい。長い本で未だに触れた事がない。
初めてのイタリアはシチリアから帰国したところです。３泊４日の短い旅行だったけれども、濃密な時間を過ごせた。イタリアの衣食住、特に独特の歴史と地域性をもったシチリアの色んなアスペクトを満喫できたように思う。また英国人との旅は、今までの自分の旅の方法と時間の費やし方を一変させた。これによって旅の充実度がグッとあがった。シチリアは夏、、、とはまだ言い難いが、夜はＴシャツで外を歩き回れるほど暖かく、湿度の低いマイルドな天候が続いた。時折雨が降ったが、微妙な風景の変化が垣間見られてそれはそれで旅の一興だった。
「神殿の谷」。そう呼称される遺跡群が残る岡を登っている時、一足先に岡の上を登り切った同僚のミケルが、息を切らして追いついた僕に一言こういった。「振り返って広がった景色を見る前に見る準備した方がいい。まず写真を撮る前に目に焼き付けた方が良い。人生でそう見ることのない絶景がみれるよ」と気が引き締まる一言を言い放った。ミケルは１０歳年上の同僚でヨーロッパ中のありとあらゆる名所を見てきた。いつもさらっと旅の話を聞いただけでも感動的な風景が頭をよぎった。彼がそういうからには相当凄いのだろうと心して振り返った。
みんな、しばし沈黙し、「まるでエデンの園だな」とため息をついた絶景が広がっていた。自分の写真力では到底表現しきれない景色が広がっていた。僕の写真では色んなモノが抜け落ちてしまった。オレンジや、新緑、オリーブ、地中海の香りや、鳥のさえずり、砂まじりの風の音、木々のざわめき、雲、光や影の変化、すべて挙げきれないが生命力溢れた景色はそういう要素によって作られていた。その園の中に何かを語る遺跡と化したギリシャ様式の神殿群が散らばっていた。そういう「絶景」をいくつか目の当たりにした旅だった。ピラネージの風景は本当に存在しているんだなと実感できた旅だった。記憶が鮮明な内に時間を掛けてアップしていこうと思う。
