I was bit afraid of asking this question to my boss for long time... but today, i encouraged myself to say this. Well,,, "Can I book holidays if i can...?" And my boss said, "Of course you can, when are you thinking to have?"... "Life is much more important than working, take holidays whenever you want". This got to my heart, and was sort of witticism.
I haven't gone back for two and a half year since I came here. It depends on ticket but i will go back on middle of August. Until than, I will work as hard as i can. Chirring of cicadas in chorus, fireworks, natsumatsuri, and sea, mountain. I feel enough in my mind to think those.
おそるおそる隣に座る僕のボス、アソシエイツのエミリーに聞いてみた。１週間オフしていたエミリーだからかなり機嫌が良くて、これは良いタイミングだと考え、思い切って言い出してみた。「ホリデーをブッキングしたいんだけど、どうかな」って。そしたらサラリとおっけいだった。「仕事よりも人生の方が大事なんだから、仕事のことなんか優先せずにばんばん休みをとった方がいいわよ」。心に響くかなりの名言だった。
２年半ぶりの日本かと思うと、わくわくしてしまう。チケットの具合にもよるけれども、恐らく８月中頃３週間ほど帰ろうかなと思っている。それまではばんばん働く。蝉の鳴く４０度近い真夏の日本、そうめん、花火、祭り、海やらかき氷やら、、、想像するだけでも顔がニヤついてしまう。
