My grandmother, she can use high tech devices unexpectedly. Mobile is absolutely ok, and Words, Excel, Email, and internet of course, she can use. And What is convenient is that she can use Skype. On every weekend, she become online and we talk a lot. One day, she talked about an interesting man in my relatives. Hidenosuke Akita is a man who is a cousin of my grand-grandmother and he always wanted to go abroad especially UK. One day, he decided to smuggle himself into cargo boat. He earned money there, and finally he arrived at England. He live very long at Glasgow she said. And after long long year, he came back to Japan with unbelievably similar looking to people in UK. It was close to Chosu five, ...like Hirobumi Ito, Kaoru Inoue, and so on... The 5 studied in UCL where i studied at Bartlett. I've seen the memorial stone many times in the courtyard. Well, I was deeply concerned with and motivated by this story... I want to meet descendants who live in Osaka now, when I go back.
僕の祖母は意外とハイテク機器を駆使できる。携帯はもちろんの事、ノートパソコンでワード、エクセル、Ｅメール、ネット閲覧は御手の物。でスカイプも出来る。なので週末の朝方にはスカイプに、祖母がオンラインと表示される。そこで聞いた話だが、僕のひいばあちゃんの従兄弟に秋田ヒデノスケという人がいた。明治時代に生きた男性で、その人が若い頃の面白い話をしてくれた。英国にずっと行きたい行きたいと思っていたその人は、ある日貨物船にのって密航し、その船でお金を稼ぎながら英国に渡ったと聞いた。そしてグラスゴーでずっと生活していたらしい。数年して帰ってきたこの人は、イギリス人と変わらない風貌になってたと。まるで伊藤博文とか井上馨らの、長州五傑だなと思った。この５人はちなみに、バートレットがあるロンドン大学にて勉強した。顕彰記念碑が大学内に建っている。そうか、、そういう人が身近にいたのかと感慨深かった。秋田ヒデノスケの子孫は大阪に住まわれている様で、今度会いに行こうと思う。
僕が車を運転して、祖父母といった２年前の仁和寺・御室桜。ここの桜は遅咲きと言われるからきっと４月の下旬だったと思う。
京都はどうなってるのかな。桜はまだだろうな。おじいちゃんはそろそろ裏の竹藪で筍がとれる時期だといってた。食べたいな。こちらでは無理だ。
