What was good about visiting Design Museum today was that I found GINA, concept car designed by Chris Bangle, BMW. GINA stands for "Geometry and functions In 'N' Adaptation". And it is covered with synthetic fabric and kinetic structure is by aluminum wires. It was unlucky that i couldn't see actually transforming and winking. When i see the emblem really closer, I found sort of stitch which reminds me of craftsmanship which means this car is still within the boundary of concept car rather than a car which will be mass produced. It will stay as Concept car i assume. 19:00 at Hampstead Heath having dinner with E-san, K-san and Hotta-shi. It was really gorgeous than expected… After dinner, relaxing at E-san's flat for while.
デザインミュージアムでうろうろしながら色んなプロダクトや家電、建築、ファッション関係のものをさーっと流し見していた中で最も良かったのはBMWのGINAが観れた事だった。クリス・バングルのデザインによるBMWのコンセプトカーだ。ずっと観たいと思っていた車が思いがけないところでみられてよかった。GINAはGeometry and functions In 'N' Adaptationsの略である。ボディーは人工の半透明のファブリックで覆われ、柔軟な構造はアルミワイヤだ。その名から推測できる様に形態が変化する。残念なのは実際に動いているところが観られなかった点だった。ウインクしているところが観たかった。間近で観てみるとBMWのエンブレム辺りにファブリクを縫った後があり非常に工芸品的にみえた。一品物の工芸品から大量生産のレベルに迄持ち上げるのは相当難しいそうだ。しばらくはコンセプトカーで留まるのじゃないだろうか。
１９時ハムステッド・ヒース。Eさん、Kさん、H師とちょっと豪華な中華で食事をした。その後Eさん宅にお邪魔しくつろがせていただいた。１１時少し前に散会。
