THE DRAWING BOOK | ドローイングブック

When I visited Tate Britain last Saturday, I found a interesting book called " The Drawing Book". So i purchased it,,, not from the shop there, but from Amazon UK. This is quite similar to the one called "VITAMIN D" i bought before that show series of drawings. What is different is that this book contains not just modern artists' drawings like VITAMIN D but Architect, botanical artist, and something related to medical art and philosophy. Additionally, those drawings are classified into different typologies which are Measurement, Nature, City, Dreams, and Body. As you see in subtitle of the book "The Survey of Drawing", drawings are treated analytically. Every page has interesting eyeful images.

テート・ブリテンのショップで何やらまた興味深い書籍を発見したので、数日後アマゾンＵＫで購入した。ＴＨＥ　ＤＲＡＷＩＮＧ　ＢＯＯＫ。以前購入したＶＩＴＡＭＩＮ・Ｄと似たコンセプトの本で、アーティストのドローイングが列挙されている。ＶＩＴＡＭＩＮ・Ｄは現代のアーティストにスポットを当てたものであったけれども、これは歴史を振り返って建築、植物学、医学、哲学など分野を横断して重要だと思われる図版が載っている。更にドローイングはＭＥＡＳＵＲＥＭＥＮＴ，ＮＡＴＵＲＥ，ＣＩＴＹ，ＤＲＥＡＭＳ，ＢＯＤＹとタイポロジーに分けられていて、副題の「ＴＨＥ　ＳＵＲＶＥＹ　ＯＦ　ＤＲＡＷＩＮＧ」が示すように、分析的に扱われている。ページを捲るごとに目が停まる。
