Embassy of Japan, RIBA Talk | 日本領事館、RIBA Talk

Tuesday, its been for a while since we haven't had raining all day. But it did today. At lunch time, I went to Japanese Embassy in Green Park to submit some importance documents. After that, eating lunch at coffee shop alone, and going back to the office. After work, I and Francisco went to RIBA to see a talk. Emerging Architecture: Jose Maria Sanchez Garcia Estudio de Arquitecture + Matharoo Associates. Former, is an architect from Spain who seems to be young and spirited. His way of thinking and actual building he designed was simple and giving silent impression which is really good. Very generic and cheap materials were basically used in the building and never be so violent and harmful against the site. He is a good architect who attempt to think how to BUILD NOTHING = building less and keep the site natural as much as possible, that was my impression. Later, Matharoon Associates was completely opposite to the former, in terms of design and approach and use of colours. I remember that this was featured in the GA Houses before. Well, as a talk, putting those 2 architects who approach differently toward architecture is interesting in terms of stimulating discussions after the lecture. Series of Emergin Architecture is good, i think. Looking forward to hear next one.

Emerging Architecture: Jose Maria Sanchez Garcia Estudio de Arquitecture + Matharoo Associates。
