Even in the fairly warm office, my leg feels really really cold… So, I bought a hot water bottle, second one. One is at home in my bed. At Argos, it was out of stock which seems to be popular item recently. People think in same way. But i got it from Off license which is cheap but good enough. My work efficiency increased much higher than this morning, actually.
having lunch at Camden Market with Francisco. He also had nice holidays. Eating Thai food sitting at a bench where there is a roof but half outside that cold wind passing behind. After work, it started to hail. BTW in Japanese, we have 2 way of saying hailstone. One is 雹＝"Hyo" and another word is 霰＝"Arare". They are really similar to each other but Hyo is hailstone which is more than 5mm, and something smaller than that we call Arare.
仕事中も脚、特に腰から下があまりに冷たく、昨日のランチタイム、近くのオフラインセンスで湯たんぽを買った、僕にとって２台目の。真っ先にアルゴスにいったらあいにくすべて売り切れであった。皆考える事は同じなのだ。暑いオフを入れて膝の裏に挟んでおけば集中力が上がって、仕事の効率が上がった気がする。寒いと言っても仕方が無い、ガーディアンによると、イギリスはここ３０年で最も寒い冬を迎えているようだ。それにこの寒波の影響で、電力供給に支障をきたす事が予想されている。これで暖房消えたらたしかに凍死する。知らなかったが寒波は１２月中頃から始まっていたようだ。で、今月末まで続くという非常に悪い予報までされている。
ランチはフランシスコと久しぶりにカムデンにて。いい年末年始を過ごしたようだ。氷点下の中反屋外の屋台的なところでタイ風カレーを食べる。仕事からの帰宅途中、雹か霰が降り出した。ところでヒョウ、アラレの違いは結晶の大きさらしい。直径が５ミリ以下のものをアラレ、それより大きいものをヒョウというのだそうだ（大辞泉より）。英語では粒をhailstone,降る事をhailという。雹と霰は英訳した時、同じ言葉にいきつく。科学用語だともしかしたらあるのかもしれない。
