Took nearly all day to find certain sanitary wares. If I imagine a tap, especially what is called GROHE's tap, I will absolutely remind me of very luxury sanitary ware. And today i noticed that its also expensive here in UK. They have quite stylish and simple designed chrome-finish taps that tempt us to use in our design. i enjoy selecting those things from huge catalogue. But the problem is that I cannot even endeavour to look and select TOILET from the catalogue which is quite quite boring to do. Opposed to this, Japanese toilets are very cool such as made of TOTO and INAX. Why don't people here won't look at toilet like they look at taps... BBC had announced and praised Japanese toilet as the most luxury toilet in the world and said that we have to learn more from them. Undoubtedly J toilets are bit too mechanistic such as seat heater, automatic opening lid and bidet and so on, that makes people feel bit weird. I thought Hightech-taste like UK might like those products but not sure about that... I should ask someone : )
カタログから既製品を選ぶのに暮れる。日本でドイツ製「グローエの蛇口」というと高級なユティリティーであり、ここイギリスでもそうだった。グローへのデザインはクローム仕上げのスタイリッシュでシンプルなものが多く、格好いいのでつい使いたくなる。蛇口・シンク・バスタブ等々かっこいいのをチョイスする。で、問題はトイレ、こちらのトイレは設計していてもちっとも選択する面白みが湧かない。それに対して日本のＴＯＴＯやらＩＮＡＸのトイレは格好良すぎる。JAPAN CAR展が特に日本的と言えるような車を展示しているんだから、トイレも思い切って展示会すればいいのに。結構集まるかも知れない（笑）。それにしてもグローへなどの水回り品があんなに格好いいのにどうしてトイレには目がいかないのであろうか。ＢＢＣが日本のトイレを２１世紀型ラグジュアリートイレと絶賛し、我々も見習うべきだという記事を何度か掲載しているから、まあみんながみんな知らないというわけではなさそう。考えてみたら便座のフタが自動で開くとか、便座ヒート、ウォシュレットとか、かなり機械化されているのが日本のトイレで、こちらの人にしたら若干の抵抗があるかも知れない。ハイテク嗜好のイギリスが食い付かない訳がないと勝手に思っているがどうなのか。
